The issue of food security is high on the global agenda. This spring, global food prices have reached their highest level in the last eight to ten years.

The President of the Russian Federation has made it his mission to increase food supplies to foreign markets by 70% by 2030. Major importers are the countries of Southeast Asia, Africa, the Persian Gulf and China.

Russia has a number of advantages over other countries: a variety of climates suitable for crop and livestock production, a huge farmland stock, and, of course, a favorable geographic location.

"We can offer China, for example, something that no other country in the world can," says Stefan Duerr. "We can use rail logistics. We can deliver dairy products with a shelf life of up to 30 days along the Great Silk Road in four to five days. This is our most important competitive advantage."

Moreover, according to the president of EkoNiva, the cost of dairy production in Russia is much lower than in many countries of the world. Russian producers have every chance and opportunity to deliver delicious and healthy products to those who need them.

"For almost a year, our company has been supplying ultra-pasteurized milk to China at an attractive price," Stefan Duerr continues. "In the future, we plan to increase the volume and expand the export range."

In his speech, Stefan Duerr also pointed out that today it is important to increase production efficiency, diversify the agricultural business, apply new technologies and continuously exchange knowledge.
