At the meeting of the National Dairy Producers Union (Soyuzmoloko) on 8 October 2019, the members discussed current developments in the dairy industry. Recently there has been an increase in the consumption of milk and dairy products and a special interest of consumers in dessert products.
The Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Oksana Lut, also took part in the meeting. In her speech she emphasized that in the near future state support will also be focused on exports. In addition, the Ministry of Agriculture plans to review cooperation programs with agricultural universities in the foreseeable future. In order to attract young people to agricultural professions and to support agricultural enterprises with qualified applicants, the state offers opportunities to promote internships.
Stefan Dürr, chairman of the union, referred to Soyuzmoloko's important role: "Today about 65% of all milk producer are in our union. In the future, we want to involve even more representatives of the dairy industry in the work of the union, promote it and, of course, fulfill the task set by the government and the Ministry of Agriculture with regard to agricultural exports – especially with regard to milk".
